KEMAMAN: An adult tiger has died after being hit by a car while it was crossing the East Coast Expressway at about 1am.

Police said the driver and three passengers were not injured. They were on their way to Kuala Terengganu from Kuala Lumpur.

Supt Kamaluddin Mohamad of the state police advised LPT2 users to be cautious when driving along the highway at night, as it was common for wild animals to wander on to the road.

“Watch out for animals such as deers, tapirs, wild boars as well as goats, cows and buffaloes which roam the area,” he said.

The tiger’s carcass has been handed over to the Wildlife Department.
