KAMPAR: Police have detained a 45-year-old man and seized 22 types of fireworks worth RM10,000 in Kampung Baru Jeram near here last night.
District Police Chief superintendent Ng Kong Soon said a team of officers raided a shop lot at about 8pm following a public tip-off.
“The raiding party found various types of fireworks hidden in a room behind the premises.
“The suspect will be remanded until Friday to facilitate our investigations,” he said during a press conference here today. He said the case is being investigated under Section 8 of the Explosive Act 1957. - NST
